Le Musee d'Orsay is actually housed in a grand railway staion which was built in 1900.The railway was designed by Eugene Henard. The museum was opened on November 1986. Le Musee d'Orsay was put in place for the Universal Exhibition of 1900. Later on it became home to 2300 paintings, 1500 sculptures and 1000 other. The museum was home to most nineteenth and twentieth century art.
